| Our Lady of the Lake 5k October 11, 2008 9:00 1/2 mile followed by 5k medals to all finishers. The Festival on the Lake benefiting Our Lady of the Lake Church and School is right after. The course is the North Shore Lakefront Loop. T-shirts and Fair tickets in the SWAG bags. post race party - trophies 3 deep. I have attached a pdf of entry form. Great family fun. FYI. Betsy and Aaron Boudreaux have extended an invitation to anyone interested in doing a little "bridge" work this Wednesday night. The Bestbank Track Club is going to be running the Lower Coast Algiers Bridge officially starting at 6:30pm. (there will be several folks meeting earlier in order to hit the bridge a few extra times). This is the bridge by the old Schweggman's near English Turn. For more information give Betsy a call at 392-8656.
Also, don't forget that this week our Chugger Weekly Run will be at New York Pizza on Thursday night. We are moving the start time up a half hour to try to avoid running in the dark. Sign in begins at 6:00 and we're off at 6:30. There will be beer and pizza for sale at the finish. Bill |

| OK. The Pensacola Seafood Festival is fast approaching. Our Panhandle Chuggers group has a large contingency signed up to run so it's shaping up to be a nice party. If anyone is interested in traveling over for this one let me know and we can try to figure out travel/sleeping arrangements. If you made the Bushwacker then you know how much fun those Pensacola Runners events can be. | |

Well, it looks like Ike might head towards our friends to the west, soooooo...... we're back on for our run at New York Pizza this Thursday at 7:00pm. If you need to get out and stretch your legs then come join us for a few miles and a few beers and pizza. Sign in begins at 6:30 and we're off at 7:00. As in the past, there will be a 2 mile and 4 mile course. Also, this run is going to be sponsored by RoadID who have given us a few prizes to be given away. We'll be drawing names from all those who sign in. Hope to see everyone there. If you think you might be able to come please drop me an email so we have an idea of how much beer and pizza we'll need. |

| O.K. , the Gardners are back at home and have electricity. We are also housing some of our family members that are not as fortunate with the electricity. Looking forward to running on Tuesday and Thursday with the group again. Take care and be safe. | |

| The Boudreaux's are still in Memphis but planned to head back to da'Bestbank later this morning. No power yet & have to poop in a bucket outside but it will be home sweet home! | |

| The Healy's made it back and had little or no damage. Hope everyone else fared as well. I know that Swami made it back to Laplace with only a few minor problems. I have a generator and some fuel, so if anyone is without power and wants to use it please let me know by email or cell phone. Also, I have chain saws and tree climbing equipment if amyone needs help clearing downed trees. Bill | |

| Well. The Pig Roast and Chugger Run #3 have come and gone. Besides TS Fay, the Pig Roast was a hoot with about 40 Chuggers hanging tough and having fun. Chugger Run #3 at New York Pizza was also a success with a collective 100 or so miles turned in between the 40 or so runners who showed up. We'll be making a call about the run on Tuesday at Tarpon Joe's on Sunday. I'll send out an email and let everyone know. Good luck to everybody. Bill | |
